(where available) No Wi Fi or Internet connection needed. Just a Digital Radio broadcast signal (now available in all major Capital cities). If you don’t have DAB+ Digital Radio in your area the Core RR26+ also has a FM tuner to pick up traditional FM Radio stations.

"Does this radio have AM so that I can listen to AM stations?"
If you're in a DAB broadcast area, you'll receive AM stations in better quality through the Digital DAB broadcast, along with additional program information. The radio does not receive AM stations via the old AM broadcast band. However, if you're outside a DAB broadcast area, you won't receive AM stations, but you will still get FM stations.

Bought as bedside unit BUT the Sleep mode takes 8 button presses using 3-4 buttons to activate.. Waaay too many to do in the dark early hours…especially if you wear reading glasses.
I’ve come across other DAB radios that don’t have quick ways to active Sleep . WHY..??
Why not 1 button to active sleep as my cheap AM/FM unit does?
If not for the sleep function I would have kept but I returned and got my money back.

Hi Russell, The Core RR26 hasn’t been designed as bedside radio hence those functions are not so prominent, so for quick access to Sleep or Snooze functions I would recommend a Alarm Clock Radio like the RR40WAKE.
Over the years I have purchased probably a shelf full of compact radios to use in the Bathroom, but this one takes the prize. The sound is so clear that my two year old Grandson thought that there was a strange man in the Bathroom when in fact it was the Richter Core+ radio with the news bulletin !
Perfect size, nice and compact. Great sound, easy to operate. I panicked slightly when the screen display started to flicker but then I realised the flickering was a low battery indicator. Very happy with this radio.
A good kitchen radio for areas with DAB+ services. The new display is a plus and the extra presets are welcome. Just one suggestion – a 90° power jack (that did not protrude at the rear) would make it more convenient to place on a narrow shelf.
