"Does this radio have AM so that I can listen to AM stations?"
If you're in a DAB broadcast area, you'll receive AM stations in better quality through the Digital DAB broadcast, along with additional program information. The radio does not receive AM stations via the old AM broadcast band. However, if you're outside a DAB broadcast area, you won't receive AM stations, but you will still get FM stations.
"How can I check if I can receive DAB Digital Radio in my area?"
To check if you can receive Digital Radio broadcasts in your area, visit the Digital Radio Plus website https://www.digitalradioplus.com.au/ and use the "Can I Get DAB+ Digital Radio?" postcode checker.
“Does the Digital Alarm Clock Radio include a battery backup in case of a power outage? Will the correct time be displayed after a power outage?”
The DAB Alarm Clock Radio does not include a battery backup. However, any alarm settings are saved to the onboard memory and if you're in a DAB broadcast area, the radio receives time and date updates from the DAB signal. This means the time and date will automatically update as soon as power is restored after an outage.

Nice digital radio, with decent sound despite its small size. (Although it’s acceptable, I would have liked a better sound, but realise the limitations of a small speaker.) Instructions were (mostly) easy to follow, and I happily wake up to it each day. I can store enough digital stations to meet my needs (basically the ABC suite and a couple of others). I haven’t really used the FM stations much, but the processes and reception look similarly acceptable. Adjusting the dim screen is easy enough, but (for me) the lowest setting is a bit too dim to see at night and the next lowest a little too bright … slightly irritating but not a big deal. Delivery was fast and efficient to WA. Recommended for anyone looking for a good digital radio that also serves as an alarm and a nightlight clock.
I’ve had the clock radio for 2 weeks now and am very please with it. Looks good, small footprint, good sound. Setup documentation could be improved but the set-up videos are very helpful – I’d like to see more of them. Also, bit tricky setting the sound level for the alarms, but this is a minor matter. I’m happy with the purchase.
As a clock radio the radio is very good and I really like the styling . The clock could be improved with a means of easily turning the dimmer on full so the time can be easily seen during the day and just as easily go back to the setting at night. The numbers for the time could be a little larger to be seen more easily when the dimmer is turned down. Overall I am pleased with the purchase but these improvements would make it an ideal clock radio.
We are absolutely delighted with our purchase. The service from Richter was exceptional and our clock was delivered very quickly to our PO Box. The radio has a bit of a retro look which we love and the sound is crisp and clear. We especially enjoy listen to ABC RN which is available through DAB. The online video instructions are very easy to follow and it was a surprising bonus that as soon a we turned on the power the clock had picked up our local time.
We can’t recommend this digital clock highly enough.
