Richter Audio products are designed and engineered for years of reliable enjoyment. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, Richter Audio Pty Ltd provides the following manufacturer’s warranty against defects.
This Standard Warranty applies to new Richter Audio products purchased in Australia from Richter Audio or an authorised Richter Audio retailer.
Warranty Periods
The Richter Audio Standard Warranty applies from the original date of purchase for the following periods:
Passive Loudspeakers — 5 Years
Active Loudspeakers & Subwoofers — 2 Years
Digital Radios — 1 Year
The Warranty Period begins on the date of original retail purchase.
Product registration is recommended as it helps Richter Audio maintain your product and purchase records. Registration is not required to exercise your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty Ownership and Transfer
This Richter Audio Standard Warranty applies to the original owner of a new Richter Audio product purchased in Australia from Richter Audio or an authorised Richter Audio retailer.
This Standard Warranty is not transferable.
If the product is subsequently sold or otherwise transferred to another owner, the remaining period of this Standard Warranty does not transfer to the new owner.
This limitation applies only to the Richter Audio Standard Warranty and does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that a subsequent owner may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits provided by this Richter Audio Standard Warranty are in addition to, and do not limit or exclude, any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions
1. What This Warranty Covers
During the applicable Warranty Period, Richter Audio warrants the product against defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal use.
Where Richter Audio accepts a valid claim under this Standard Warranty, Richter Audio will, at its cost:
- repair the defective product or component; or
- replace the defective product or component with the same or an equivalent product or component.
If an identical replacement product or component is no longer available, Richter Audio may provide a current product or component of comparable function and performance.
For a claim made under this Standard Warranty, Richter Audio may determine whether repair or replacement is the appropriate remedy. This does not limit any right you may have to choose a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, including where a product has a major failure.
2. Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your Richter Audio product has developed a fault, please contact Richter Audio or the authorised Richter Audio retailer from whom you purchased the product.
Warranty assistance can be requested through the Customer Support section of the Richter Audio website at: richter.com.au/customer-support/
You may also contact Richter Audio using the telephone number or email address shown under Warranty Provider below.
When making a warranty claim, please provide, where available:
- your name and contact details;
- the product model;
- the product serial number;
- reasonable proof of purchase;
- a description of the fault; and
- photographs, video or other information reasonably requested to assist with assessment of the claim.
Reasonable proof of purchase may include a retailer receipt, tax invoice, delivery invoice or other evidence that reasonably demonstrates when and where the product was purchased.
Please do not return or freight a product to Richter Audio without first contacting us and receiving return or service instructions.
Richter Audio may need to inspect or test the product before determining the appropriate remedy.
3. Transport and Assessment
Where a product can reasonably be posted or easily returned, you may be asked to return the product to Richter Audio, the supplying authorised retailer or an authorised service location for assessment.
If the product is confirmed to have a fault covered by this Standard Warranty or the Australian Consumer Law, Richter Audio will bear or reimburse reasonable transport costs where required.
If you have paid reasonable return transport costs for a valid warranty claim, please provide evidence of those costs to Richter Audio so that reimbursement can be arranged where applicable.
For products that are large, heavy or otherwise difficult to return, please contact Richter Audio before arranging transport. Richter Audio will arrange collection or meet reasonable transport costs where required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Products transported by the customer must be packed appropriately to protect them from damage. Where available, the original product packaging should be used.
Damage caused during transport as a result of inadequate packaging is not covered by this Standard Warranty to the extent that the inadequate packaging caused the damage.
If assessment determines that the product is operating correctly, or that the fault or damage is not covered by this Standard Warranty or the Australian Consumer Law, reasonable inspection, collection or return transport charges may apply. Where such charges may apply, Richter Audio will advise you of the estimated costs before they are incurred.
4. Repairs and Replacement Products
A product or component repaired or replaced under this Standard Warranty remains covered for the balance of the original Standard Warranty Period.
This does not limit any rights or consumer guarantees that may independently apply to repaired or replacement goods under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where refurbished goods or parts may be used as part of a repair, Richter Audio will provide any written notice required under the Australian Consumer Law before accepting the product for repair.
Where a product capable of storing user-generated data is accepted for repair, Richter Audio will provide any applicable written repair notice before accepting the product. Customers should back up any user-generated data where reasonably possible before submitting such a product for service.
5. Exclusions and Limitations
Subject always to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, this Standard Warranty does not cover a fault, failure or damage to the extent that it was caused by:
- accident, misuse, abuse, neglect or abnormal use;
- failure to install, connect, operate or maintain the product in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions;
- unauthorised alteration, modification, servicing or repair;
- operation of the product outside its stated specifications;
- excessive power, amplifier clipping, overdriving or other inappropriate operation that causes damage to loudspeaker drivers, amplifiers or other components;
- connection to an incorrect voltage or unsuitable electrical supply;
- power surges, lightning, fire, flood, storm or liquid ingress;
- excessive heat, moisture, corrosion or other environmental conditions outside those reasonably intended for the product;
- insects, vermin or foreign objects entering the product;
- defective, unsuitable or incompatible third-party equipment or accessories where that equipment or accessory caused the fault;
- damage occurring during transportation, installation or movement of the product where the transportation or work was not arranged by Richter Audio; or
- normal wear and tear or cosmetic deterioration resulting from ordinary use rather than a defect in materials or workmanship.
Natural variations in the grain, colour, texture or appearance of timber veneers and other natural materials are inherent characteristics of those materials and are not considered manufacturing defects.
Nothing in these exclusions excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law.

Richter Audio may request reasonable proof of purchase when assessing a claim under this Standard Warranty.
Acceptable proof may include a:
- retailer receipt;
- tax invoice;
- delivery invoice;
- credit or debit card statement;
- purchase reference; or
- other evidence that reasonably demonstrates the purchase.
Richter Audio warranty registration may assist us in locating product and purchase information but does not replace or limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Registration assists Richter Audio with product identification, purchase records, warranty assistance and customer support.
